Apple Watch Electrocardiogram (ECG)
by Apple
The Apple Watch ECG is a feature available on certain Apple Watch models (Series 4 and later) that allows users to take an electrocardiogram directly from their wrist. This feature uses the built-in electrical heart sensor to record the timing and strength of the electrical signals that make the heartbeat. The ECG app can generate a PDF of the user's heartbeat rhythm, which can be shared with healthcare providers. It is designed to detect signs of atrial fibrillation (AFib), a type of irregular heart rhythm, and notify users of potential issues. The feature leverages machine learning algorithms to analyze heart rhythm data and provide insights.
