Ditto
by Ditto Care
Ditto is a free mobile app from Ditto Care in Rotterdam for patients and their relatives. A patient records a consultation on their own phone, or scans a letter, and gets a plain-language summary to reread and share with family or carers; clinicians do not use it themselves, though some hospitals and GPs point patients to it. The vendor says Google Gemini transcribes the recording and tells speakers apart (Reson8 as fallback), OpenAI GPT models through Azure OpenAI and Gemini write the summary at B1 reading level, and summaries can be translated. Automated checks, including an LLM judge, compare each summary with the transcript; if a key check fails no summary is shown and the patient can ask Ditto's medically trained staff to write one. The vendor says Ditto gives no medical advice, can make mistakes, and that patients should check important points with their care provider. Recordings and summaries stay encrypted on the phone; content is processed in EU data centres (Azure, Google Cloud), deleted after delivery and not used for training.
