eSmart Systems Grid Vision
Grid Vision is eSmart Systems' AI-supported inspection and asset-information platform, sold with an Inspection-as-a-Service model. Field crews photograph each secondary substation and cable cabinet; AI models extract and validate asset attributes from the images, and subject-matter experts check the results before they are written to the operator's core systems (GIS, asset registers). Alliander signed a contract worth at least EUR 10 million in April 2024 for an image-based digital inventory of about 60,000 substations and cable cabinets, used for Safe-to-Touch compliance, condition analysis and maintenance prediction; by 2025 over 3.2 million data fields had been processed and verified. Stedin used Grid Vision in a three-year programme that digitalised more than 22,000 secondary substations and validated over 10 million asset attributes for congestion management, network calculations and investment planning. Human experts remain in the loop on every validated data item.
