AI in HiX
by ChipSoft
AI in HiX is ChipSoft's collective name for the AI functions it builds into HiX, the electronic health record used by hospitals and other care organisations. The vendor lists its own functions: a medication assistant that shows the drugs most often prescribed for a diagnosis, based on historical prescribing data; a complication suite that predicts a patient's expected course before and after surgery; prediction of emergency department inflow for capacity planning; a pressure-ulcer (decubitus) algorithm developed with care institutions; and language-model tools, run through its PROMPT module, that draft discharge letters from daily reports (a module ChipSoft says a UMC Utrecht team developed and ChipSoft integrated), summarise nursing reports for handover and rewrite a doctor's letter at A2 reading level for the patient. An admission-day summary is in development. ChipSoft says AI will not take medical decisions without validation by care providers. Its DDA module and generic APIs also pass HiX data to other vendors' AI, which this entry does not cover. ChipSoft does not say where the language models run.
