FibriCheck
by FibriCheck
FibriCheck is a smartphone app for people diagnosed with, or at risk of, atrial fibrillation, prescribed by doctors and hospitals or bought directly, with a web portal for professionals. The patient places a fingertip on the phone camera for 60 seconds (or uses a supported wearable); the app records a photoplethysmography (PPG) signal and sends it to the cloud, where an algorithm that the vendor calls AI-powered labels the rhythm, for example regular or possible atrial fibrillation, and gives the heart rate. Depending on the subscription, a FibriCheck technician verifies the algorithm's result. The instructions for use say results are potential findings, not a diagnosis, that all interpretations should be reviewed by a healthcare professional, and that patients must not change medication without their doctor. Professionals review measurements, symptoms and notes in the portal. The privacy policy says data are stored on servers in the EEA (AWS, Frankfurt) through the platform provider Extra Horizon, with some processing in the United States.
