Gradescope
by Turnitin
Gradescope is Turnitin's grading platform for paper-based and digital exams, homework and programming assignments. Instructors and teaching assistants, mostly in higher education, scan or collect student work, grade it question by question with shared rubrics, and send grades back to the LMS. The vendor says Gradescope AI reads handwritten English text and maths answers and multiple-choice marks on fixed-template PDF assignments and forms suggested groups of similar answers, so a whole group can be graded at once, and that bubble-sheet exams are graded automatically once uploaded. AI-assisted grading and AI roster matching are part of the Institutional plan. Instructors review and confirm the suggested groups and apply the rubric scores themselves.
