Novar (named Solarfields until April 2023), a Groningen-based solar-park developer and operator, monitors its solar parks and rooftop systems with a SCADA system that, according to its asset manager, uses AI. The system stores data from many solar parks and matches each park with validated data from parks of similar size and capacity to predict how it should perform; when a park underperforms, staff drill down to inverter level to find and fix losses, often remotely. It also predicts output and when assets need maintenance, and produces reports on what performs better or worse than before. Asset managers decide on interventions.
