NOX Energy heat-pump control
by NOX Energy
NOX Energy, an Antwerp start-up specialised in cloud-based AI energy control, built the technology behind Frank Energie's Slim Verwarmen service. The service learns how a home heats up and then steers the heat pump or air conditioner from weather forecasts, the home's thermal behaviour, local solar production and, where available, price signals, keeping comfort within limits. Frank's Dutch terms say the service continuously determines the economically optimal consumption pattern within the comfort limits the customer sets and sends signals to the manufacturer's cloud. Customers set preferences in the Frank app and can pause the service at any time. In February 2026 Frank extended Slim Verwarmen to Belgium; Frank also publishes Slim Verwarmen terms for the Netherlands.
