OLYSENSE
by Odin Vision
OLYSENSE is Olympus's cloud-based AI platform for gastrointestinal endoscopy, used by gastroenterologists and endoscopy teams during procedures. A hub connected to the endoscopy tower sends the live video to the cloud for analysis and returns the results to the endoscopy monitor. In Europe it offers three apps: CADDIE, which detects suspected colorectal polyps during colonoscopy and characterises them (CADe and CADx); CADU, which highlights the areas of an image most likely to show dysplasia in Barrett's oesophagus; and SMARTIBD, which supports a Mayo-score assessment of ulcerative colitis activity. Olympus's US product page says the gastroenterologist is responsible for reviewing the suspected polyp areas and decides with their own judgement whether a polyp is present, and that the system does not replace a full patient evaluation. The software is made by Odin Vision (Odin Medical Ltd, London), an Olympus company. Neither company names the cloud provider or the region where video is processed.
