Whiffle (Delft) produces wind and solar power forecasts up to seven days ahead, with intraday updates, by running its GPU-based Large-Eddy Simulation weather model at under 100 m resolution and combining it with what it calls state-of-the-art machine-learning algorithms and ensembles; forecasts are delivered via API or SFTP for trading and imbalance management. Whiffle's site carries a testimonial from Essent's short-term trader and forecaster praising its data quality and tailored services, and shows Eneco and Essent logos; Shell (turbine siting), Ørsted and RWE (wind-resource modelling) are named for other Whiffle products. The Essent quote is undated and tagged to Whiffle Wind, so which product Essent uses is not certain. Traders decide on positions; the forecast is an input.
