CINA-iPE is software for radiologists that checks contrast-enhanced CT scans of the chest or abdomen, ordered for another reason such as cancer staging, for a pulmonary embolism nobody suspected. The vendor says it runs automatically on every qualifying contrast CT acquired with non-arterial timing (not CT pulmonary angiography), with no manual trigger, and sends an alert to the radiologist's worklist on average 1.5 minutes after the scan, moving suspected cases to the top. It belongs to Avicenna.AI's CINA family of AI tools for acute and incidental findings on CT. The vendor calls it a triage and notification tool reserved for health professionals: the radiologist reads the scan and decides whether an embolism is present. The vendor's AVI Platform routes each CT to the right CINA tool and returns results to the PACS. Avicenna.AI says it acts as a processor for the hospitals, which remain controllers of the patient data; it does not say whether processing runs in the cloud or on premises.
