Vandebron wind-production forecasting pipeline

Vandebron built a real-time machine-learning pipeline to forecast the wind-energy production of its producers 24 hours ahead. It runs on a SMACK-style stack (Apache NiFi, Jupyter, Kafka, Spark, Cassandra) with separate test, acceptance, production and monitoring clusters on D2iQ's Mesosphere DC/OS platform, and was deployed in about three months. The case study describes Vandebron as having about 180,000 customers and 220 producer partners in early 2019. It does not say how the forecasts are used in balancing or trading, and it is undated beyond that.
