Klarna offers pay-later options at a webshop's checkout. In the Netherlands they are called Betaal nu, Betaal in 3 delen and Betaal in 30 dagen; Pay in 3 splits a purchase into three interest-free instalments. Before it grants credit, Klarna assesses the shopper and checks for fraud. Its Dutch privacy notice says these are automated decisions based on profiling, made with machine learning models, and that it consults credit bureaus such as BKR.
