AIR, short for AI by Revolut, is a consumer-facing conversational assistant embedded in the Revolut mobile app. Revolut began rolling it out to UK customers on 9 April 2026, across a UK base of roughly 13 million customers. Customers reach it by swiping down from the middle of the app home screen, or through Profile > Chats > AIR. It replaces multi-step menu navigation with natural-language requests covering spending analysis and budget summaries, investment and portfolio tracking, review and cancellation of subscriptions, card controls including freezing a lost card, and travel support such as trip budgeting and buying Revolut eSIMs in-app. Governance-relevant characteristics as published by Revolut: AIR only accesses data the customer can already see in the app, specifically transactions, investments and card information. Revolut states a strict zero-data-retention policy under which customer information is not stored by its AI partners and is not used for training. The underlying model providers are referred to publicly only as AI partners and are not named, so sub-processor identity and hosting location are undisclosed. Third-party reporting describes AIR as reactive rather than agentic: it answers prompts and does not surface insights unprompted or initiate financial actions on its own. Revolut Trading Ltd states that it provides a non-advised reception and transmission of orders service and does not give investment advice or personal recommendations, so AIR's investment features should be treated as portfolio information rather than advice. Availability at time of record: United Kingdom only. Revolut has said it intends to extend AIR to other markets but has published no timeline.
