ATLAS.ti is qualitative data analysis software for desktop, web and mobile, made by ATLAS.ti Scientific Software Development GmbH in Berlin, part of Lumivero since 2024. Researchers, students and market research teams use it to import, code, analyse and visualise interviews, survey answers, documents, images, audio and video. The vendor says its opt-in AI features use OpenAI GPT models to suggest codes from a stated research intent, summarise documents and codes, answer questions about one or more documents in a chat and analyse sentiment, and that Deepgram transcribes audio and video. The vendor's terms define the AI features as a preparatory aid subject to full human review: researchers review and refine suggested codes before applying them, and an AI Privacy Mode, which administrators can enforce, switches off all OpenAI-backed features.
