Finom AI Accounting is an AI-driven bookkeeping and tax compliance product for German freelancers, sole proprietors and small businesses, supplied by PNL Fintech B.V. under the Finom trade name. It automates receipt and invoice capture and data extraction, categorises bank transactions against the German SKR chart of accounts, performs reconciliation, and generates statutory German tax reports including UStVA (preliminary VAT return), UStE (annual VAT return), EUeR (income-surplus statement), GewSt (trade tax) and ZM (intra-EU recapitulative statement). Reports are filed directly with the Finanzamt through the ELSTER interface. An embedded AI assistant answers tax questions in plain language, flags missing documents and runs pre-deadline filing checks. The product also offers one-click DATEV export for customers working with a Steuerberater, a GoBD-compliant audit trail and ZUGFeRD e-invoicing. The vendor describes the underlying system as a distributed multi-agent system in which specialised AI agents collaborate on tasks, and has marketed it as an autonomous AI accounting agent. In parallel the vendor states that submissions to the Finanzamt require user approval at each step and that the customer stays in control, describing the assistant as an AI co-pilot.
