Perspective API

Perspective API is a free, cloud-based toxicity detection service developed by Jigsaw (a subsidiary of Google/Alphabet) in collaboration with the Google Counter-Abuse Technology team. It uses machine learning models to identify 'toxic' comments in online conversations, such as those that are rude, disrespectful, or likely to make someone leave a discussion. The API scores text based on attributes like toxicity, severe toxicity, identity attack, insult, profanity, and threat. It is designed to help platforms and publishers moderate user-generated content at scale, fostering healthier online discussions. Perspective API is widely used by news organizations, social media platforms, and forums to filter harmful content.
