Philips AI-enabled CT (Precise Image, Precise Position)
by Philips
Philips builds AI into its CT 5300 and Rembra CT scanners, used by radiographers and radiologists in hospital imaging departments; the AI features are part of the scanner, not separate applications. Philips says Precise Image is a reconstruction mode that uses a convolutional neural network to produce lower-noise images from lower-dose scans, which it says allows up to 80% less dose, and that Precise Position uses an AI-enabled camera to recommend table height and scan start and end positions. Other 'Precise' applications plan scan ranges, label vertebrae, align brain images and correct cardiac motion. Philips presents Rembra CT, launched in March 2026 and CE marked, as using AI-enabled smart workflows and a detector designed to work with AI. The radiographer positions the patient and runs the scan, and the radiologist reads the images; Philips says the dose to use should be set with a radiologist and a physicist. Philips describes these as functions of the CT system's own software and names no cloud processing for them.
